Present day.
Madhu sat on the window seat of her beautiful house. The doors had been locked again.
RK had locked them again. So she wouldn’t run away.
Opening on the window she saw Bittuji busy talking to someone.
“Bittuji, please open the door” She begged with tears afresh in her eyes.
Bittuji looked around before going towards the window.
“Bhabiji I can’t, chief doesn’t like it and last time I left them open you tried to run away” Bittuji said shaking his head.
“Please he has kept me inside all week, just let me out for a few hours” Madhu begged.
Bittuji could hear in the distance the sound of a speeding engine. Chief was coming home.
“I have to go” Bittuji said gulping uncomfortably, nobody was aloud to speak to her. Nobody was aloud to look at her.
Madhu closed her eyes as the door opened, the slow whistling of hum hai dewaane tera dewaane hit her ears making her cringe.
“Biwi, come welcome your husband home” He shouted, Madhu turned her face away as he walked towards her.
A hand snaked around her waist pulling her up against him.
Madhu pulled away, and walked away from him, only to have him grab her wrist in an iron clad hold.
“Don’t turn your back to me, there are two people you don’t turn your back to god and the other me” He said pulling her back against him.
“I will runaway, the first chance I get I will” she promised him.
“And I will find you, no matter where on earth you go…”He answered back kissing her neck softly making her jump, her skin turned a deep shade of red.
Rishab opened his canister flask and took in a long sip, a wailing women was affluently arguing with the director.
Bittuji was busy on his phone rescheduling his shooting for tomorrow. The sheer level of noise started to get to him.
“Bittuji please shut them up” He said closing his eyes and leaning back on his soft velvet cautioned chair.
“What’s going on, here?” Bittuji always had a habit of screaming when he spoke. Rishab groaned inwardly.
“This women wants an advance, for her daughter’s wedding” The director, said looking annoyed.
“Then give her one, why are you fighting so much for” Bittuji asked feeling his third phone in his pocket begin to vibrate.
“She never came and shot the scene these junior artists think they are, the real hero’s, get out of here” He said pushing the sari clad women away.
Suddenly the set went quiet, as the soft sound of tinkering bangles, made Rishab open his eyes.
He gasped she was beautiful, dressed in a simple white suit as she walked past people stared with their mouths hanging.
“She is even more beautiful then the heroine” He heard someone whisper, she wrapped her arm around the women that had been fighting for her pay.
“Ma, let’s go” She said softly, Her mother stared at her with tears in her eyes.
“Madhu, what are we going to do the money…” Her mother cried.
“Ma, please stop crying, when you cry I start to cry, we don’t need it, I spoke to Mukul, his mother is no longer asking for a dowry” Her mother sighed in relief.
Rishab watched as she never once gave any attention to the director nor did she give any attention to anyone on the set.
“Bittuji, PACK UP!!!” Everybody broke out of their spellbound state. She looked up at him and smiled politely. She had dimples, she was probably the most beautiful girl he had ever seen”
“B-b-but chief” Bittuji turned away, he knew better than to ask questions. Nobody questioned RK.
“Sir, we only shot one scene…” The director started off, RK held up his palm.
“Put all the expenses on my account” He said, slowly circling the director before stopping in front of her.
“What a beautiful daughter you have Mrs…?” He said politely as he could, turning on all of his charm. Her sparkling eyes distracted him, by their slightly naughty expressive manner.
“Malik, yes thank you sir” her mother stared up at him with a wary look in her eyes. While the daughter just stared with her slight dimpled smile.
“I am RK” he said holding out his hand for her to shake, she took and her smile deepened.
“Madhu” she pronounced in a soft sweet voice. In took all he had in him not to grab her then and there.
She had a gold ring on her finger.
She was engaged.
“Getting married soon?” He asked, her mother stared at him with a confused expression.
“Yes, next week in fact” her bright smile deepened at the thought.
“Arranged, or a love marriage?” He asked without a skip of a beat.
“He had seen madhu at the market and the next day he proposed, brought his whole family to our house” Her mother answered.
“You know him? ” He asked another question.
“No she trusts me to choose the right boy for her” Her mother answered for her again.
“Bittuji!” RK shouted turning away for a second.
By then madhu disappeared.
“Yes chief” Bittuji answered.
When RK turned around the girl and her mother had disappeared.
“I want to know everything there is to know about this Madhu Malik”
